Drive a Chrysler LHS? Here are Three Common Problems You Shouldn't Ignore

LHS might've been the quintessential Chrysler luxury car to be driving in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but it wasn't without issues, even during its short seven-year career. Luckily, they aren't too hard to repair. You'll just have to know what signs to watch out for.

Here are a few of the commonest, and more importantly, what to do about them.

1. Leaky Fuel Systems

If gas is leaking from the fuel rail, the O-ring seals on the rail, or from the fuel injectors in your LHS, there's probably a crack somewhere. This is a known issue for models from between 1994 and 2001 with 214,000 or fewer miles on their odometers these days. You'll have to reinforce the rail and replace the seals. Check with Chrysler to see if you qualify for recall.

2. Faulty Window Regulators

LHS models from between '94 and '01, with 355,000 miles or fewer on their odometers today, have a known issue with their window glass lift plates, where they bend or break. This happens, the glass will tilt, and the pane will get stuck in the door. If the window regulator's the cause, you'll have to replace it.

3. Defective Cooling Systems

If the heating in your LHS isn't working right, and the engine's overheating, then most likely, there's air in the cooling system. This is a known issue for models from between '94 and '01 with 153,000 or fewer miles on their odometers nowadays. The fix: flushing and filling the system properly. If that doesn't work, one or another part might be the problem. You'll need to run an inspection and replace accordingly.
