Make Your RAM ProMaster 1500 the Ideal Work Van: Three Key Upgrades

Both RAM enthusiasts and tradespeople love ProMaster 1500, and for a good reason: as a commercial vehicle goes, it's versatile, for general contracting construction, logistics/delivery, event management, you name it. If you're looking to make the most of the van, there are three big custom projects you can take on. Let's take 2024 RAM ProMaster 1500 as an example.

1. Add Cargo Accessories

ProMaster 1500 has loads of cargo space for 2024 -- anywhere from 259 cubic feet to 420, depending on the configuration. That's not to mention a max payload rating of 4,820 pounds. To get as much out of the hold as you can, you'll need to do more than just protect the floor plastics and upholstery with cargo trays. You'll have to put in cargo accessories -- partitions for organization, for instance, plus tie-down loops to secure things better, and even cargo lights to make grabbing equipment easier.

2. Put in Towing Accessories

With a super tow rating of 6,910 pounds maximum, 2024 ProMaster 1500 is a great prospect for trailering accessories upgrades like a trailer hitch and coupler, ball mount and ball, a hitch lock or pin, a safety chain, and others. Equip yours accordingly, and you'll be able to do a lot more with it.

3. Mod the Suspension

RAM ProMaster 1500 has ground clearance similar to a lot of SUVs for 2024: 6.9 inches. Put simply, it could benefit from an adjustment, along with improved supports. You can get both putting tougher springs, shocks, and struts in the suspension. A sway bar couldn't hurt, either; it'll help keep body roll to a minimum and make handling a little more reliable.
