Mopar Wheels FAQ

Can I Customize the Wheels on My Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM?

Yes. You've got options galore.

For one, steel wheels, the kind you see on tougher trucks like RAM 1500. Secondly, alloy wheels, like you might see on cars like Chrysler 300, made of aluminum and another metal -- iron, copper, or silica, for example, or zinc, or even magnesium. Third, carbon/graphite fiber, the kind you see on sports cars like Dodge Challenger, made of a filamentous high-resiliency crystalline polymer.

Wheel size, measured in diameters, ranges widely, from 15 inches for smaller cars to 20 inches or more for off-road trucks like Jeep Gladiator and some performance SUVs. Styles range just as widely, from single- or twin-spoke to multi-spoke. You can even get wheels designed for a certain climate and/or weather pattern specifically.

Most important: that you get the right type and size for your model. Also, install the wheels right (or have a Mopar service center do it), and choose genuine OEM wheels vs. aftermarket. Proper fit determines everything from the right wheel alignment to how reliable speeding up and slowing down are and how well your speedometer is calibrated. In other words, it dramatically lowers your risk of getting into an accident.

What's the Difference Between OEM and Aftermarket Wheels?

OEM wheels are genuine Mopar -- top-quality, guaranteed to fit your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM and work right. They also come backed by manufacturer warranties. Some aftermarket wheels, on the other hand, aren't so, and can actually void factory warranties if you install them.
